Old Fashioned Doughnuts
3 cups flour
1/3 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
2/3 cup sugar
1 small egg
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon melted shortening

Peach Cobbler
1 quart fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1 1/2 cups water
1 cup sugar
